who we are

Our work is almost entirely specialist. Bulk liquid haulage by road and rail, hazardous chemical work for serious industrial clients, and a few jobs that not many other hauliers can do, like delivering water to steam locomotives on the mainline.

Alongside the transport side, we run a DVSA-approved ATF testing lane and a tank cleaning bay from the same yard. Both started out as services for ourselves, and both are now open to other operators.

We’re a small team, but the work we do is anything but small. The cost of getting a chemical load wrong is significant, which is exactly why our credentials, our training and our insurance matter, and why customers tend to stay with us once they’ve found us.

Family-run since 1951. Same yard, same values.

We’re a small operation, but a long-serving one. A number of our drivers have been with us for over twenty years, and we’re now looking for the next generation to join them.

If you’re an HGV driver who fancies specialist tanker work, or you’re willing to train into it, we’d like to hear from you.

A mark of safety and quality.

Duncan Hill holds SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment for Sustainability) accreditation, awarded following a detailed independent assessment carried out on behalf of CEFIC, the European Chemical Industry Council.

The assessment examines how a company operates across areas including safety, quality and environmental management, and it’s widely recognised across the chemical industry as a mark of a haulier that does things properly. For us, it’s another reflection of the standards we hold ourselves to on every load.
